"The Beautiful Dead"

On Friday when I was walking with my friend, I found this little butterfly on the road. It was dead. But despite being dead, it was one of the most beautiful butterflies I have ever seen. I decided to take it home and keep it safe in a box. Such a beautiful creature should at least have peace in its afterlife rather than being disturbed by the awful modern world. I know in fact how it died. Or at least I assume how it died. It was more than likely to be flying and flew into a car. Some of you might think "things like this happen. No big deal" but I do think it is a big deal. This little butterfly for me, is just an example what techology does to our world. Technology kills the natural beauty. Technology is the reason why this world is so dull. It is helpful, we all need it but nature is more important and we should care for it. We can't let technology destroy the beauty of the world...

I got an A in my Art exam for the JC. I'm so proud of myself :) Hopefully the same thing will happen for the Leaving Cert !

Lena Hoschek Mexican Skull Collection

I've been looking around the internet for various sugarskulls/ mexican skulls and something unique has caught my attention. An Austrian fashion designer, designed a collection inspired by Mexican Skulls. Her name is Lena Hoschek. I think the whole collection is very exceptional. I love the ethnic feel about it and the hairstyles and make up is beautiful. Everyone should check it out :)

Just another portrait...

I swear, this is the last picture I'm uploading today. It's the last thing I drew this summer when I was still on holidays in Poland. I've been practicing portraits and just facial features in general. This is probably the most human-like portrait I have ever drawn ;) I know there isn't too much shading but you see, when you forget a pencil sharpner, it's hard to shade with broken pencils :p

So lately I have fallen in love with the Hunger Games. While reading the second book Catching Fire, I got really interested by the dresses that have been designed for Katniss. Here's how I pictured her famous Mockingjay dress.
